The Missions of the Society are:

  • To increase the knowledge of companion animal infectious diseases through encouragement of basic and applied research
  • To enhance the professional development of workers in this discipline
  • To develop and exchange expertise in companion animal infectious diseases and microbiology through periodic meetings and publications
  • To encourage and foster collaborative efforts for the control of companion animal infectious diseases
  • To help support research and dissemination of information on companion animal infectious diseases within developing countries
  • To encourage recruitment and training of young veterinarians in companion animal infectious diseases
  • To consider and make recommendations on policies pertaining to companion animal infectious diseases as necessary
